EMGLCA LEAGUE REPRESENTATIVES
An EMGLCA League Representative plays a crucial role in the Eastern Massachusetts Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association (EMGLCA).  They are essential in maintaining fairness and organization within the EMGLCA.  Their responsibilities include:

  1. Representing Their League and Ensuring Coaches Are Informed: League Reps are responsible for maintaining accurate records of the schools and coaches within their respective leagues. League Reps are expected to distribute information to all varsity head coaches in their leagues that is shared by the EMGLCA Board, the MIAA, and/or the MIAA Lacrosse Committee. They serve as the voice for their league at EMGLCA meeting and the MIAA Girls Lacrosse Committee meetings.
  2. Attending Meetings: League reps participate in approximately 2–4 meetings per year including a fall kick off meeting, a pre-season coaches meeting and the EMGLCA All-Star Selection meeting. All out-of-season meetings are held virtually. League reps are expected to attend the annual EMGLCA meeting held in-person at the end of the regular season for the purpose of selecting Eastern Massachusetts All Stars.
  3. Alerting Coaches to Post-Season Award Nomination Processes and Submission Dates: League reps make sure all coaches in their league are aware of post-season awards. The EMGLCA sponsors All-Star and Senior Awards annually. USA Lacrosse sponsors All-American Awards, All-Academic Awards and the Jackie Pitts Award annually.

There are a number of vacant league representative positions.  If you are a varsity head coach and are interested in becoming a representative for your league, please email Meredith McGinnis at MeredithEFrank@gmail.com.  Please consider volunteering to serve as your league’s EMGLCA representative.
