EMGLCA All-Stars

EMGLCA All-Star selections represent the best high school girls lacrosse players in Eastern Massachusetts.  The EMGLCA also recommends its student-athletes for All-American consideration according to the rules and regulations set forth by USA Lacrosse.

The nomination and selection process for EMGLCA Honorable Mention and 1st Team All‑Star recognition has been updated. Beginning in 2026, high school coaches will no longer be required to submit nomination forms. Instead, the EMGLCA will rely on the feedback, expertise, and input of each MIAA‑recognized league to identify the most qualified and deserving recipients.

EMGLCA All-Star nominations will be based on:

  • (1) A high school coach’s EMGLCA membership
  • (2) An MIAA-recognized league’s all-star point allotment
  • (3) A student-athlete’s rank within their league (Independent/non-league schools will be grouped together for purposes of all-star point allotment and player ranking.)

How to Submit Your Nominations

EMGLCA League Representatives will be responsible for submitting the EMGLCA League Rank Template which lists the top student-athletes from the league (inclusive of players from all positions, years of graduation, and league sub-division).

League Ranking Criteria

Student-athletes who are be considered for EMGLCA All-Star League Ranking should:

  • Be a member of their varsity lacrosse team or an approved scholastic club program.
  • Have played in the majority of their team’s games for the current season.
  • Be a starter or significant contributor with statistics to highlight their impact.

Each league can employ their own individual ranking procedure:

  • The number of players ranked cannot exceed the total number of nominations allocated for its respective league.
  • There can be no ties among players in the league ranking.

All-Star Point Allotment and Allocation

All-Star nominations will be based on high school coach EMGLCA membership status and league All-Star points.

  • Every whole point represents one (1) EMGLCA All-Star nomination.
  • League All-Star point allocations are determined by each school’s division within the MIAA.
    • Division 1 High Schools: 1 point
    • Division 2 High Schools: 0.75 point
    • Division 3 High Schools: 0.5 point
    • Division 4 High Schools: 0.25 point
    • All point totals will be rounded up to the nearest whole point.  For example, a league that receives 7.5 All-Star points will be awarded 8 EMGLCA nominations.
  • Additional All-Star Points
    • Leagues with 100% membership will receive an additional all-star point.
    • Independent/non-league schools will receive one extra all-star point due to their independent status.
    • Sixteen schools that finish in the top four of their respective Divisions in the final MIAA power rankings are granted an additional nomination and will be placed at the bottom of the league ranking.
