The girls and boys lacrosse committees suggested the development of a Season Welcome notice. The notice includes some rule change information as well as a few other important items. This notice was shared to all Athletic Directors in the Executive Director’s update on Thursday, March 26.

2026 MIAA Girls Lacrosse Tournament Format
2026 Important Dates:
- MIAA Girls Lacrosse Cut-Off: May 20, 2026
- MIAA Bracket Release: May 22, 2026
- MIAA State Tournament Begins: May 24, 2026
- Preliminary Round: May 24-26, 2026 (*Teams who elect to play on May 26 may be required to play back-to-back.)
- Round of 32: May 27-29, 2026
- Round of 16: May 30-June 1, 2026
- Round of 8: June 3-5, 2026
- Final Four: June 6-8, 2026
- Anticipated State Finals: June 10-11, 2026 at Babson College

MIAA Girls Lacrosse Super 8/1A Tournament Sub-Committee – FEEDBACK REQUESTED!
The MIAA Girls Lacrosse committee has been asked by the MIAA’s Tournament Management Committee (TMC) to examine the interest and viability for a Girls Lacrosse 1A/Super 8 tournament. A subcommittee has been formed to look into this and provide feedback, recommendations, and potentially a proposal for a 1A format. The purpose of this survey is to give coaches and opportunity to provide feedback directly to the committee that will inform any such proposals. There has been discussion among other MIAA sports committees about creating (or reinstating in some cases) a Super 8/1A Tournament.
A Super 8 tournament is a postseason format designed to bring together the top eight teams—regardless of division—to compete in a high‑level, elite bracket. It’s used in some sports to create a “best of the best” championship experience.
