EMGLCA All-Academic Award
This award honors a lacrosse player whose academic excellence, intellectual commitment, and personal discipline set the standard for what it means to be a true student‑athlete. It recognizes a player from each EMGLCA-member program who not only excels in the classroom but also models the habits, character, and work ethic that elevate the entire program.
Description
EMGLCA All‑Academic Award is presented to a student‑athlete who demonstrates outstanding achievement in their studies while contributing meaningfully to her lacrosse program. A recipient maintains a strong academic record, earns academic distinction, pursues challenging coursework, and approaches learning with curiosity and responsibility. Her ability to balance academic rigor with athletic commitment reflects exceptional maturity and leadership.
Criteria for Final Submission for EMGLCA All-Academic:
- Student-athletes must be a junior or senior and have earned two (2) varsity letters
- Student-athletes must have played in majority of their teams’ games for the current season
- Student-athlete has a minimum cumulative (freshman year through application deadline) grade point average 3.75 GPA out of a 4.0 academic scale. (Equivalent of a 4.7 GPA on a 5.0 scale.)
- Student-athletes should have left their mark beyond the lacrosse field and classroom by making significant contributions of service to the school and/or community.
How to Nominate:
To be eligible for EMGLCA All‑Academic honors, a student‑athlete must be nominated by a coach who is an active EMGLCA member. All EMGLCA-member coaches can select one student-athlete to receive EMGLCA All-Academic honors. Student-athletes must meet the above criteria in order to be nominated.
